The results of a charity Big Build for Leeds-based Getaway Girls by the BBC DIY SOS team have been revealed after the shows BBC Children in Need special aired.
Nick Knowles, and his trusty team of Chris, Jules, Billy & designer Gabrielle Blackman were joined by an army of volunteers to create the charity’s new building – from the ground up – in just nine days.
We're delighted to have been able to support this incredible charity with a donation of comfy bean bags that you'll find in their crèche and activity spaces.
Getaway Girls has worked with BBC Children in Need for more than a decade to provide safe spaces and more for girls and young women.
Co-chair and trustee Samantha Toolsie of Getaway Girls said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded the build with DIY SOS. It is spectacular and will contribute massively to raising the aspirations of the young women and girls that we work with.”
